Three people were accused of selling several types of drugs throughout Ocean County, authorities said. On Wednesday, Nov. 1, Cheryl Mulgrew called police seeking a psychiatric evaluation for her 34-year-old son, Michael Mulgrew, who had been experiencing a mental health problem, police documents say. But Michael Mulgrew came home later that night seeming calm, and so Cheryl, 69, told police not to bother, and she'd take him to the doctors in the morning, the affidavit says. Woman Sentenced For Stealing $108K From Jersey Shore Marina: Prosecutor
A 52-year-old woman from Ocean County has been sentenced to three years in New Jersey State Prison in connection with more than $108,000 stolen from her employer — a marina, authorities said. Lisa Dowd of Barnegat was sentenced on Friday, June 2 as a result of her previously entered guilty plea to theft, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. A 44-year-old woman from Ocean County has been charged with setting fire to her home, authorities said. On Tuesday, March 21, Lisa Ziobro, of Barnegat, was charged with two counts of aggravated arson and four counts of arson, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Dylan DeStefano died in a motorcycle crash on Wednesday, Oct. 12 of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident, his obituary says. He was 19 years old. The Barnegat/Manahawkin resident's greatest passions were his Honda Street Bike and his Nissan 350 Z, next to physical fitness, his obit says. Dylan was a valued employee of Mud City, where he was considered family. Hundreds of people who knew and loved Dylan turned out for a memorial in his honor last week. A 46-year-old fisherman suffering a medical emergency was rescued off the Jersey Shore by members of the US Coast Guard from Barnegat and Atlantic City, authorities said. A 64-year-old Ocean County resident was among two killed in a head-on snowmobile crash in Upstate NY, authorities said. Nicholas J. Klym, 64, of Barnegat, was operating the snowmobile and failed to keep right at the crest of a hill while heading west on Rector Road in Montague around 12:45 a.m. Friday, March 4, New York State Police said. A 59-year-old woman was killed in a two-car crash on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. On Sunday, Feb. 20 at 3:53 p.m., Barnegat police responded to Barnegat Boulevard North and Cole Drive for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Police found the driver of one of the vehicles, Alice Toriello, 59, of Barnegat unconscious and unresponsive. Authorities have identified a man struck and killed by a train in Asbury Park. James Kessock, 34, Barnegat, was hit about 9:55 p.m. Sunday, according to Jim Smith, a New Jersey Transit spokesman Kessock was struck along the North Jersey Coast Line tracks near First Avenue around 9:55 p.m., Smith said.
