Pair Learn Fates In Beating Death Of Victim Outside Elizabeth Bar
Two men – one who was convicted at trial and another who pleaded guilty – were sentenced to New Jersey State Prison for their roles in the beating death of a man outside a bar, authorities said.
Laquan McCall, 31, who was convicted of manslaughter in November 2022, was sentenced to 16 years in state prison, according to Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel.

The Elizabeth driver who three times ran over a woman after a minor car crash leaving her in critical condition was ordered held pending his next court date by a Union County judge Tuesday, April 19.

A convicted child porn trafficker from Union County must spend no fewer than 20 years in federal prison for doing it again while soliciting two children to "engage in sexually explicit conduct online," authorities said.

A Powerball ticket good for $50,000 was sold in Union County.
The ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball from the Saturday, Oct. 10, drawing, winning the third-tier prize.
