Police Seek ID For Body Found In Central Jersey
Police are seeking the public's help identifying a woman whose body was found at a park in Central Jersey. The New Jersey State Police Missing Persons & Human Trafficking Unit and the Carteret Police Department said the woman's body was found at the Waterfront Park in Carteret. State Pollice released a sketch of what the woman would look like. A convicted killer from West New York sent a fellow inmate to the hospital with a severe head injury as part of a deal with a prison "hit squad" run by a Latin Kings leader, authorities said. A prisoner at the Essex County Jail was charged with murder for the stabbing death of another inmate, authorities announced. Ashton D. Barthelus, 26, of Carteret, stabbed Dan G. Milford Gelin, 27, of Elizabeth, at the correctional facility last week, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, said. The body of a 23-year-old man reported missing last month was found along the Jersey Shore -- and his family is desperate for answers, NJ Advance Media reports. A New Jersey water company warned customers of potentially toxic chemicals in the drinking water Monday. The level of Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) in the water of all its customers in Carteret, Clark, Edison, Metuchen, South Plainfield and Woodbridge had exceeded acceptable regulatory standards, Middlesex Water Company said in a notice. A 53-year-old man died after a pair of Jersey Shore boaters tried rescuing him earlier this week, authorities said. Stanley Zagleski III, of Carteret, was rescued by a pair of fisherman who noticed he was struggling in the Shrewsbury River near Bay Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, New Jersey State Police Sgt.
