Pursuing officers kept the white Honda Civic in sight before Vincent J. Giovanniello got stuck at the Exit 64 ramp off the eastbound highway, Police Chief Michael Foligno said.

Giovanniello, who was taken into custody, had taken off after the officers tried to stop him on Locust Street around 10 p.m., Foligno said.

He was being held on $25,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail this morning on charged of DWI, driving on the suspended list and second-degree eluding “because of the risk of injury or death to others during the pursuit,” Foligno said.
