NJ Transit is continuing to tweak its ticket policy. NJ Transit announced that refunds will be made available for unused one-way tickets purchased prior to Saturday, June 1. The refund policy will also apply to rail 10-trip tickets. Tickets purchased on or after June 1 must be used by the end of July and will not be eligible for refunds. Grewal said in announcing the suit's filing. “Even before the financial fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic, too many New Jerseyans were struggling to pay off their student loans,…

State authorities have told a Passaic County dentist and Morris County health club to stop making false or misleading claims about coronavirus tests. Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said his office and the state Division of Consumer Affairs sent cease-and-desist letters telling each to stop claiming that they have antibody (“serological”) COVID-19 tests that can tell whether someone is immune from COVID-19. “Misinformation of this nature has the potential to provide false security to individuals and contribute, in the aggregate, to widespread public harm, and also violates New Jersey’s Co…

NJ Authorities Ask Consumers To Report Coronavirus Price Gougers
Authorities asked New Jersey residents Thursday to report any local merchants charging exorbitant amounts for virus-killing cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer and other products. They also threatened to nail gougers. The state Division of Consumer Affairs sent warning letters Thursday to 10 retailers suspected of significantly inflating prices of items associated with the current concerns related to COVID-19, Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said. The letters warned retailers that New Jersey’s Consumer Fraud Act (CFA) protects consumers from "gross and unreasonable inflation of the pr…
