30 New Officers Officially Join Atlantic City Police Amid Violent Start To 2024 The Atlantic City Police Department has grown after 30 new officers were officially sworn into their new roles. The city held a swearing-in ceremony at the Atlantic City Convention Center on Monday, Mar. 11. The 30 new officers were hired through a $3.75 million grant from the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) program. The new officers were hired amid a relatively violent start to 2024 in Atlantic City. Video: Murphy Tours Newest Coronavirus Field Hospital In Middlesex County A second temporary field hospital to help with the overflow of patients during the coronavirus outbreak opened Wednesday morning in Middlesex County. Gov. Phil Murphy toured the 500-bed facility at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison.
