NORWOOD, N.J. — The New York Chinese Cultural Center, the Korean Dance Choomnoori and Triumph Tae Kwon Do will be performing at the Norwood Public School PTO Lunar Year Celebration on Feb. 9.
Children are encouraged to wear traditional outfits to school that day, PTO President Reidun Sullivan told Daily Voice.
"We are looking forward to extend this celebration to other countries' cultures to share in our school," Sullivan said.
The Lunar New Year is among the most important social and economic holidays in China, history.com says.
The holiday was a time to honor household and heavenly deities as well as ancestors, the website says.
