Details Released In Rockaway River Body Recovery Authorities have released details in the body that was recovered from the Rockaway River Monday morning.  Police were called to a portion of the river in Boonton where responders pulled a 71-year-old man's body from the ice around 9:50 a.m., Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said. The man's identity was not being released and the investigation was being completed by the Medical Examiner’s Office, he said alongside Chief of Detectives Christoph Kimker and Town of Boonton Captain Stephen Jones. Body Found In Water In Boonton [Developing] UPDATE: Authorities have released details into Monday morning's body recovery in the Rockaway River. A body was found in the water in Boonton Monday morning, according to developing reports. The Boonton Police Department requested the local fire department to assist as the body was located at the water department facility on North Main Street around 9:40 a.m., initial and unconfirmed reports say. The investigation was ongoing as of 11:30 a.m., a spokesperson for the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office told Daily Voice. This is a developing story. Check back for more.

Lane Closures Planned On I-80 In Morris County Saturday Night Lanes on I-80 in Rockaway, Roxbury and Jefferson will be closed overnight this weekend as part of the first phase of a bridge replacement project, the state Department of Transportation said.  One lane eastbound will be closed beginning at 8 p.m. and a second at 10 p.m. Later Saturday, a westbound lane will be closed, followed by a second westbound lane.  When the lanes are reopened Sunday morning, traffic on both sides will be shifted to the right shoulder so as to maintain three lanes in both directions while work begins in the center of the roadway.
