Pedestrian, 55, Struck, Killed Near Meadowlands UPDATE: Carlstadt police on Monday identified a pedestrian struck and killed just north of the Meadowlands over the weekend as a 55-year-old Paterson man who was heading home from work at a local service station. Abdul Ahad, who emigrated to the U.S. from Bangladesh, was struck around 6:45 a.m. Saturday as he crossed Washington Avenue just north of Route 120 -- on what for decades has been a notorious stretch of road, authorities said. NY State Driver, 24, Killed In Bergen Wrong-Way Crash A 24-year-old Warwick woman was killed when her car veered across the double-yellow line on Skyline Drive in Oakland early Tuesday and slammed head-on into a minivan, authorities said. The driver of the northbound 2011 Volkswagen Routan -- a 42-year-old Springfield, MA man -- and four of his passengers were taken to local hospitals with moderate injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening, Police Lt.
