Investigators in Atlantic County are asking for help in solving the murder of a local celebrity in Atlantic City nearly 40 years ago, authorities said. In a news release on Wednesday, March 27, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office asked for public assistance in the investigation into the 1985 killing of Raul Sanchez. DUI Driver Indicted In Crash That Killed Double Organ Transplant Survivor In NJ
A Delaware man was accused of driving drunk, speeding, and ignoring a red light in a crash that killed a woman in Atlantic County, authorities said. Kevin Wilson, 63, of New Castle, was indicted by a grand jury on Tuesday, Mar. 19 for first-degree aggravated manslaughter, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. 52 Arrested In 'Elaborate' Cockfighting Ring In South Jersey: Police
More than 50 people were arrested after police broke up a large cockfighting ring in Atlantic County, authorities said. Galloway Township police executed a search warrant at a home on the 300 block of South Bremen Avenue on Saturday, Mar. 9, the department said in a news release. When officers arrived, a large group of people were there and many tried to run away before they were detained. A lawsuit that allegedly cost taxpayers thousands was dismissed against an Atlantic County police department accused of misconduct during a domestic violence arrest, authorities said. Investigators are looking for your help in solving the cold case of a woman found dead in Atlantic County more than 35 years ago. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced on Tuesday, Feb. 13 that its major crimes unit is looking for the relatives and friends of James “Crab Daddy” Whiting Jr. He was born in 1916 and died in 2011. An Atlantic County volunteer fire department is asking for help after its assistant fire chief was severely injured in an oil refinery explosion. The Milmay Volunteer Fire Company said it happened while Michael Black was battling a fire at his career firefighting job at the Phillips 66 refinery in Linden. The National Weather Service has released snow totals from the latest winter storm. In New Jersey, the most amount of snow from the Friday, Jan. 19 storm appears to have fallen in Hopewell Township (Cumberland County) and Mount Royal (Gloucester County), where 6.5 inches of snow were reported. Yet another December rain storm has come and gone, leaving many New Jersey towns under water. According to the National Weather Service's Philadelphia/Mount Holly office, between one and three inches of rain fell across the area, ending early Thursday, Dec. 28. The town that got the most amount of rain is Washington Township (Warren County), with 3.38 inches, the weather service said. An Atlantic County man admitted collecting child porn videos and still images, some involving sadistic or masochistic violence against victims as young as 12, federal authorities said.
