Support Pours In After Sudden Death Of Devoted South Jersey Dad, Groundskeeper Michael Erb, 42 The sudden death of a devoted South Jersey father of two, longtime groundskeeper, and business owner has prompted a wave of support from the local community. Michael Joseph Erb, of Villas, died “suddenly yet peacefully” on Tuesday, May 9, his obituary says. Born in Philadelphia, Michael spent the last 25 years working as a groundskeeper and custodian for Lower Cape May Regional High School. Active Shooter Alert Unfounded In South Jersey Police in South Jersey said a report of an active shooter at a high school turned out to be false. Lower Township Police, along with other agencies, responded to Lower Cape May Regional High School for the report of an active shooter.  "It was very quickly determined that the call was unfounded and there was no threat and the school returned to regularly scheduled classes and activities," Lower Township police said.

Freeling died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 18 at the age of 33. Freeling, a Philadelphia native, graduated from Lower Cape May Regional High School, his obituary and social media pages say. Freeling was known for his passion and talent for music and playing the guitar. He also had a one-of-a-kind “impractical joker” sense of humor, his memorial says.
