A 40-year-old man from South Jersey called police after killing his wife, but when they found her body at the scene, he said she was taking a nap, authorities said. The death of a Florence woman whose body was found inside her home earlier this week has been ruled a homicide, authorities said. Police found Sheila Maguire, 54, late Monday afternoon after family members requested a wellness check at her residence in the 200 block of Birch Hollow Drive because they had been unable to reach her for a few days, according to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. An 84-year-old South Jersey man who said his wife was suffering and "in poor health" stabbed her to death, authorities said. A 63-year-old man from Burlington County found guilty of causing the deaths of his mother and her companion in a house fire was sentenced to 11 years in New Jersey state prison, authorities said.
