Man Dead In Double Camden Shooting
A 31-year-old South Jersey man was killed and a 20-year-old injured in a shooting on Saturday, Jan. 7, authorities said. Eric Cecilia, of Leesburg, and the other victim were shot on the 3200 block of Saunders Avenue in Camden around 8:45 p.m., Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said. Both victims were taken to Cooper University Medical Center where Cecilia was pronounced dead at 9:53 p.m., and the other victim was in stable condition. This investigation is active and ongoing. A 35-year-old Camden man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of another 35-year-old man this weekend, authorities said. Duron Williams was found suffering a stab wound on the 200 block of Main Street just before 11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. Anthony Somma of Toms River died on Sept. 15 at Cooper University Medical Center after a five-year battle against Ewing Sarcoma, his obituary says. He was 27 years old. A New Year's Eve baby, Anthony was born to entertain, his obit reads. He had a passion for musical theater and "lit up every room he entered." Anthony graduated from Toms River High School East (2014) and pursued a degree in radio, film and broadcasting at Rowan University. An out-of-state man got his head stuck in a school fence after crashing a stolen motorcycle, authorities said. The 32-year-old man from Blackshear, Georgia, was injured when he crashed at 3:04 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, according to Burlington City Police. The crash occurred at the end of Wall Street at Wilbur Watts School, police said.
