The estate of an electrician who died from a 30-foot fall at a food manufacturing plant in Saddle Brook has reportedly received a $5 million settlement. Joseph Roscitt, who worked for the Modern Electric Company in Clifton, was atop a scissor lift changing light bulbs when an employee at Chefler Foods accidentally backed a forklift into the aerial platform on Dec. 1, 2021, authorities said Roscitt, who was a member of IBEW Local 164 in Paramus, suffered brain bleeding and other critical injuries when his head slammed against the concrete floor, they said. NJ Worker Killed By Heavy Machinery Accident: Police
A 62-year-old Ocean County man was killed in an apparent worksite accident in Hillsborough early on Wednesday, May 31, authorities said. The man, whose identity was not released, was found as Hillsborough Township Police responded to a call regarding an accident involving heavy machinery at a site on Willow Road around 7:25 a.m., Somerset County Prosecutor John P. Victim Critical After Electrical Explosion At Meadowlands Solid Waste Plant
An electrical explosion at a solid waste facility in North Arlington severely burned a worker on his face and side, authorities said. The 62-year-old victim from Paterson was taken to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston following the mishap at the Hackensack Meadowlands Development Commission facility on Baler Boulevard shortly after 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, Police Capt. Two workers were killed after becoming trapped under rubble at JFK International Airport this week have been identified. Franciso Reyes and Fernando Pereira were relocating utility lines at an energy plant near the airport for its redevelopment project, when they became trapped under rubble in a trench around 11:10 a.m., on Monday, April 3, officials said. Worker Electrocuted, Killed By Live Wire In Mercer County: Police
A worker was electrocuted and killed while working on fiber optic lines, authorities said. Dean Kitchin, 52, of Cherry Hill apparently touched a live power line during the work, they said. His lifeless body was found on top of a box truck, according to Hamilton police. Hamilton police and firefighters were called to 11 Souith Gold Road for a report of a fire on Wednesday, March 1. There was no foul play, Hamilton police said. The Middlesex County Medical Examiner's Office was conducting an autopsy.

A 63-year-old employee was found dead in a kettle cooker at a South Jersey food processing plant early this week authorities said. Millville's Dale R. Devilli was found in the cooker on Parsonage Road in Upper Deerfield around 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, New Jersey State Police said. The incident was not considered suspicious. A 47-year-old man from Cumberland County was killed in an explosion at a truck repair shop. Authorities identified the victim as Bruce A. Cheese of Cedarville.
