Three people were hospitalized with head injuries, including one man who was airlifted, after a crash in Ocean County, authorities said. Driver, 51, Killed In Head-On Crash In Cumberland County
A 51-year-old driver from Atlantic County was killed when his car crossed the center line and hit another car head-on in Cumberland County, authorities said. Billy Hyslip of Absecon died in the crash, according to Vineland police. On Friday, March 29 at about 6:50 a.m., Vineland police responded to the 200 block of Park Avenue. Hyslip's car had collided head-on with a car driven by Patrick Schmidt, 32, of Cherry Hill. Hyslip was pronounced dead at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. Camden County, State Launch Initiative To Reduce Fatal Crashes On White Horse Pike
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey Attorney General are set to launch a traffic safety initiative to cut down on crashes and improve pedestrian safety along the White Horse Pike. Last year, there were seven fatal crashes on the state highway. These crashes resulted in eight deaths with five being pedestrians and one being a bicyclist, the county said. Driver, 38, Killed After Hitting Landscaping Stone, Tree In South Jersey Crash
A 38-year-old Williamstown man died in a Franklin Township crash late Saturday, March 2, local police said. Robert Lafferty III's Kia Optima veered off the 3500 block of West Malaga Road into the oncoming lane of traffic before hitting a landscaping stone, several mailboxes and a tree before coming to rest, local police said. Lafferty was hospitalized where he was pronounced dead while his 41-year-old male passenger suffered a possible broken wrist, police said. The crash remains under investigation.

NJ Student Drivers Need More Practice Hours Under New Law
A new law will require student drivers in New Jersey to spend more time learning behind the wheel before they can get a license. Gov. Phil Murphy signed a bill on Monday, Jan. 8, that requires student drivers 21 years old and under to spend at least 50 practice hours with an adult. The law also requires at least ten hours to be completed at night. Parents or other adults must certify the practice driving hours were completed. The mother was trick-or-treating with her children on Halloween when she was struck near West Park Avenue and Lafayette Avenue just before 7:15 p.m., Hamilton Police said in a Wednesday, Nov. 2 release.
