They Had FOMO So They Had Kids — Now, They Regret It: Rutgers Study FOMO: It's the fear of missing out and exactly what a group of now-regretful parents say pushed them to have children, a study by Rutgers University has found. The study found that one in every 14 parents in the United States, or about 7 percent, say they wouldn’t have children if they could do it over again, according to the study. Kasia was born in Poland and moved to the U.S. when she was 10 with her family, and attended Wanaque High School while living in Haskell, her obituary says. Remembered for her "incredible work ethic," Kasia got her first job at 15 at a local bagel store. She graduated from Lakeland High School in 2001, and went on to earn her bachelor's in business and marketing at William Paterson University.
