Antonio Mercado III died in a Texas hospital on Monday after being admitted several days earlier, friends and fellow firefighters said. Possible Drowning Reported Along Jersey Shore First responders were called to a report of possible drowning along the Jersey shore, authorities said. The water emergency was called about 4 p.m. off 100th Street in Long Beach, according to initial reports.  An unconfirmed report said the elderly swimmer had been pulled from the water and that EMTs were trying to revive her. New Jersey authorities have been warning about rough seas all week.  On Monday, a swimmer in his 60s drowned in Lavallette and five other swimmers were rescued in Seaside Park, authorities said.

Pedestrian Struck By Car, Airlifted To Jersey Shore University Medical Center Firefighters, police and EMTs were called to a report of a pedestrian struck by a car in Ocean County, authorities said. First responders were called to Route 37 and Coolidge Avenue in Toms River about 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
