Elmwood Park Boy, 15, Struck By Sedan In Saddle Brook
A 15-year-old Elmwood Park boy was hospitalized after being struck by a sedan Sunday afternoon in Saddle Brook, authorities said. A witness said the teen was dashing across the street when he was struck by what Capt. John Zotollo Jr. said was a 2011 Hyundai Sonata at the intersection of North Midland Avenue and Molnar Drive shortly before 12:30 p.m. The boy "flew onto [the] windshield and flew off, smacking his head on the ground," the witness said. UPDATE: A pedestrian who was killed on eastbound Route 46 outside Teterboro Airport had avoided the crosswalk when he was struck, a witness said Wednesday. Responding officers immediately began conducting CPR on Mariano Morales-Benitez, 43, of Union City on the darkened stretch of highway in front of the bus stop near Fred Wehran Drive at 5:21 p.m. Tuesday, Moonachie Police Chief Richard Behrens said. A 24-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed before dawn Sunday on Route 46 in Totowa. Officers responding to a 3:47 a.m. call found Ahmed Idid of the Rego Park section of Queens in the left lane next to the median outside a shopping center on the westbound highway across from 46 Lounge on the eastbound side, responders said. An 81-year-old Clifton resident was struck and killed Sunday morning a few doors down from his home. Marinus Lalumia, of Van Orden Place, was pronounced at the scene after a 2017 Honda HR-V driven by a 21-year-old Paterson man struck him as he crossed Hazel Street across from the Daughters of Miriam Center shortly before 8:30 a.m. Sunday, authorities said. A pedestrian was struck and killed in the fast lane of Route 4 in Englewood overnight Sunday, authorities confirmed. A Honda struck Jorge Reyes Tapia, 42, of the Bronx in the westbound lane near Van Brunt Street shortly after 1 a.m., Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton said. Old Tappan Man, 23, Struck, Killed By Jeep In Brooklyn
A pedestrian who was struck and killed by a Jeep in downtown Brooklyn on Thursday was identified as a 23-year-old Old Tappan man. Joseph Fernandez was crossing the Flatbush Avenue extension at Gold Street when he was struck shortly after 6:30 a.m., the NYPD said. An ambulance took Fernandez to Brooklyn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The 67-year-old driver of the 2017 Jeep remained at the scene. No charges were immediately filed, authorities said. Fernandez was graduated from Northern Valley Regional High School and attended the University of Rhode Island.

Authorities in Hudson County are seeking the public's help in identifying a hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a 31-year-old pedestrian last Wednesday. Broken Leg Suffered By Route 46 Pedestrian Struck By Pickup
A pedestrian suffered a broken leg when he was struck by a pickup truck before dawn Monday on Route 46 in Elmwood Park, authorities said. The 51-year-old victim from Paterson was crossing the highway at Mola Boulevard when he was hit by a 2008 Dodge Ram shortly after 5:30 a.m., Police Chief Michael Foligno said. He was taken to St. Joseph's with the broken femur and a cut lip, the chief said.
