1 Dead In Newark Stabbing: Prosecutor One person was fatally stabbed Monday, April 11 in Newark, authorities said. Responding officers found 52-year-old Clacius Tate on the 100 block of Seymour Avenue around 7:10 p.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II said in a joint release. Tate, of Newark, was taken to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8 p.m., Stephens said alongside Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara.
