At 1:30 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of Ferry Street and found the man had been slashed in the head during a fight that initially began as a verbal altercation inside an area bar Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Click here for more.  Two men jumped out of a car on Ferry Street Sunday morning in Newark and robbed a passerby, WABC 7 reported.  Surveillance video shows the woman getting pistol-whipped by one of the assailants before both jump back in the car. The woman was unhurt.  Police believe the Newark robbery may be connected to robberies the same day in Kearny and East Newark.
