A 32-year-old Guatemalan national was seized by ICE agents after Fairview police arrested him for repeatedly violating a restraining order that was granted to his mother. Borough police initially arrested Jose Santos Bello-Rojas for threatening to kill the woman in late January, Capt. Michael Martic said. Manzano, a 39-year-old janitor, was found alongside his bed by officers conducting regular checks of the jail’s secure housing unit on Wednesday, Cureton said. A 20-year-old Guatemalan national was charged with kidnapping and robbery, among other offenses, after authorities said he abducted an older woman at knifepoint on the street and tried to drag her to his Hackensack home. Bergen County sheriff's officers took a protestor from Teaneck into custody during a brief flareup outside the county jail on Friday. Two more inmates at the Bergen County Jail recently tested positive for the coronavirus, one of whom was hospitalized and another who was receiving medical care in an isolation unit at the lockup, Sheriff Anthony Cureton said Monday. A corrections officer at the Bergen County Jail tested presumptive positive for the coronavirus, leading seven co-workers to self-quarantine as well, Sheriff Anthony Cureton said Thursday. A SWAT team stormed a Teaneck home early Saturday afternoon and seized a 72-year-old auto detailer who's had trouble before with the law.
