Tributes Pour In For Longtime First Responder Leslie Graf, Passaic County Native
Leslie Graf, a lifelong New Jersey resident and longtime first responder, died on Tuesday, March 5 at the age of 77, according to her obituary.
Born in Kearny in 1947, Graf lived in Nutley before moving to Wayne, her obituary reads. She met her husband Bill while attending Wayne Valley High School and they raised their three daughters in Bloomingdale, according to her obituary.

Online Fraudster Who Scammed Elderly Woman Out Of $30K Busted By Police In NJ
A 49-year-old Queens, NY man was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Feb. 27 with scamming $30,000 from a 76-year-old Nutley woman through an email scam, authorities said.
The woman said she responded to a Microsoft e-mail telling her to contact technical support, Nutley police said.
The scammer told her accounts had been jeopardized and walked her through a $30,000 withdrawal, police said. The woman visited several banks and handed the money to a person who came to her door on the evening of Monday, Feb. 26, police said.

An unemployed Nutley man bought 10 vintage cars with the money he made selling cocaine, authorities charged.
Authorities seized the “exotic” vehicles along with nearly $332,000 in cash that Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said Omar Rios, 44, squirreled away in his apartment and a stash house.
They also grabbed 1.7 pounds of cocaine, cutting agents, packaging material and a hydraulic press used to compress cocaine for packaging, the prosecutor said.

Erica Voloshin was born to love.
The 37-year-old Nutley woman, who was killed over the weekend in a Belleville home, is being mourned by those who love her for her innate kindness.
"She was so capable of loving anybody," said Voloshin's boyfriend, Aviv Roziner, of Huntingdon Valley, PA. "She was so kind... she was the most understanding person one could ever imagine."
Scott Hurring, 43, of Belleville, was charged with murder in Voloshin's killing Sunday, Oct. 1, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Belleville Police Chief Mark Minichini said.

North Jersey's Joseph Luongo, 33, Remembered As Loving Son, Brother
Joseph Vincent Luongo, who died on Saturday, March 25, is being remembered as a loving son and brother, according to his obituary.
Luongo, 33, lived in Pompton Plains and previously lived in Nutley, according to the obituary.
He worked as a boiler operator at Johanna Foods in Flemington, and is survived by his parents, Francisco and Deanna, and his brothers, Francesco and Valentino.

Four Charged In Hoboken Street Fight That Went Viral (Update)
Four men are in hot water after authorities in Hoboken say they participated in a late-night brawl that went viral on social media in October of last year.
Joseph Cosenza was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, while an arrest warrant was issued for Samuel Sorce, 25, of Florham Park, in the Oct. 23 street fight on Hudson Street and Hudson Place, Hoboken police spokesperson Marci Rubin said.
Sorce is accused of conspiracy, aggravated assault, and endangering an injured person, police said.

North Jersey Firefighter Jordan Darley Dies Suddenly Leaving Behind Wife, New Baby
Support was surging for the wife and child of Passaic firefighter Jordan Darley who died suddenly in November 2022.
Darley, 40, died on Nov. 12 after going into cardiac arrest, according to a GoFundMe page launched for his wife, Lucia, and baby, Jordan.
The Bloomfield resident owned his own HVAC company in Nutley, and was proud to have become a firefighter, accomplishing a lifelong dream, his obituary says.

A serial burglar wanted on warrants out of no fewer than eight towns in four counties was captured by Maywood police and charged with a break-in at a local dry cleaner.
