Pedestrian Struck On Garden State Parkway A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle early Monday morning on the Garden State Parkway. The Essex County crash happened near Exit 151 around 4:25 a.m., in Bloomfield, developing reports say. Developing reports indicate the incident may have been fatal but New Jersey State Police was not able to confirm as of 9 a.m. This is a developing story. Check back for more.

Lebanon Mom Dies After Crashing Through 2 Central PA Buildings A 47-year-old mom from Lebanon died after crashing into two buildings Sunday morning, authorities said. Police responding to Linglestown Road and North 6th Street found Amy Krick's vehicle had left the roadway and hit two structures around 7 a.m., Susquehanna police said. Krick's vehicle appeared to have struck one side of Salon 160 then went through the other side and into a brick house, PennLive reports. Escaped Edna Mahan Inmate Captured A prisoner who escaped from the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility on Sunday has been captured, authorities said. ORIGINAL STORY BELOW The inmate was reported missing from a minimum security unit at the facility sometime Sunday morning, a spokesperson from the prosecutor's office said. She was last seen near Exit 13 on Route 78. Anyone with information is urged to contact Hunterdon County Communications at 908-788-1202 or 911. Edna Mahan Correctional Facility became the center of an investigation in the last year due to a series of sexual abuse charges among guards.

Fleeing DUI Motorcyclist Gets Stuck In Central PA Railroad Tracks, Authorities Say A drunken motorcyclist from North Carolina in town for a car show became stuck in railroad tracks while trying to flee from police who stopped him in Central Pennsylvania, authorities said. Carlisle police stopped Phillip Westmoreland, 34, while operating his Honda Grom on the 800 block of W High Street just before the N Orange Street overpass around 2:25 a.m. on Oct. 2, local authorities said. PA Mom Tried Covering For Daughter Who Led Police Pursuit, Authorities Say A Pennsylvania mom took the blame for her daughter who led a brief police pursuit to avoid having her arrested, authorities said. A Susquehanna police officer tried stopping a vehicle when the driver lost control of the vehicle while fleeing, and then took off running on foot around 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 25, local authorities said. The driver was not immediately located, but her mom was identified as Tammy Jones and claimed to have been driving the vehicle "to avoid having her daughter arrested," police said. Jones was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension, authorities said.

Man Arrested For Shooting GF, 1-Year-Old Daughter In Philadelphia, Police Say A man who told authorities he wasn't home when his girlfriend and 1-year-old daughter were shot in the Kensington section of Philadelphia Thursday has been arrested in the incident. Desmond Bruson, 34, is accused of shooting the 33-year-old woman and child in a home on the 1100 block of South 56th Street sometime before 2 a.m., city police said. Bruson apparently had told police he left the house for 10 minutes and "found the victim unresponsive in the second-floor bedroom bleeding from the nose" when he got back.
