Carteret Slaughterhouse Worker Hit Lamb Hard With Crowbar, PETA Calls For Action: Officials Animal rights organization PETA is calling for an investigation into a Central Jersey slaughterhouse after an employee was accused of hitting a lamb with a crowbar. On Sept. 8, a federal inspector saw the employee at Carteret Abattoir in Carteret hit the lamb on the back with a crowbar while driving the animals into pens, according to a report by the USDA. Asbury Park Healthcare Provider Tests Positive For Hepatitis A The Monmouth County Health Department is urging Hepatitis A vaccinations after a healthcare provider tested positive for the infection. The MCHD was notified by a healthcare provider that a staff member employed by Cardinal Provisions, located at 513 Bangs Ave., in Asbury Park tested positive for Hepatitis A. The employee worked while infection on Sept. 7 to 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, and 21. MCHD staff visited the establishment and conducted an inspection, which found no evidence of food safety violations. South Bound Brook Man Who Went On 11-Day Burglary Spree In Franklin Resists Arrest: Prosecutor A 53-year-old man has been arrested in a string of burglaries across one Central Jersey town. Brian F. Cicerelle, of South Bound Brook, burglarized cars in the early-morning hours between Aug. 29 and Sept. 9, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said. Teen Killed Walking Home In Bedminster Was Voracious Reader With Gentle Soul Police have identified the 18-year-old man killed while walking home in Somerset County last week. William Richardson was struck by a vehicle that veered off Route 202 (Main Street) and onto the sidewalk around 6:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 in Bedminster, local police said. William was pronounced dead at the hospital, and the 35-year-old driver of the Nissan Altima that struck him was hospitalized. NJ Trespasser Who Climbed Buckingham Palace Wall Charged, Held In UK: Report A New Jersey man was being held in the United Kingdom after climbing into the Royal Mews, located inside of Buckingham Palace, according to authorities and The Telegraph via MSN.
