Police: Central Nyack Man Stopped For Traffic Violation Was Driving Drunk
NYACK, N.Y. -- A 26-year-old man is facing charges of driving drunk after an arrest in Nyack early Friday, Orangetown police said.
Philip White of Central Nyack was pulled over for a traffic violation around 7:22 a.m. on Franklin Street in the village, police said.
The arresting officer said White’s eyes were “glassy,” his speech “slurred,” and he had the odor of alcohol on his breath.
White consented to, and failed, both field sobriety and breathalyzer tests, police said.

'Marching On' Highlights Civil Rights Movement In Peekskill Exhibit
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – An exhibit of the works of Leonard Freed, a photographer known for his iconic images of the Civil Rights Movement, will be on display at the Field Library in Peekskill.
Freed, who lived in Garrison with his wife, Brigitte, died in 2006 at the age of 77.
The exhibit, “Marching On,” is a carefully curated selection of 22 timeless images from Brigitte (Klück) Freed’s personal collection.

Craig B. Sweetser, 64, of Poughkeepsie
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Craig B. Sweetser of Poughkeepsie died on Saturday, Feb. 11. He was 64.
He was born in Sellersville, Pa., on Jan 20, 1953, to the late Dr. Arthur A. and Jeanette (Buczko) Sweetser.
He was employed by Hudson River Housing as a receptionist at the Hillcrest House in Poughkeepsie.
Hockey was his passion, and his favorite teams were the Rangers and the Flyers.
Survivors include his fiancé, Kelly Cash; sons Sean and Kris Sweetser, both of Newburgh; and his sister; Linda Sweetser-Morris of Sellersville.

STAMFORD, CONN. -- A fistfight that escalated into a shooting has resulted in a 15-year-old city boy’s arrest, according to a report by The Stamford Advocate.
