6th Newark Police Officer Who Died Of Covid-19 Was 'Good Man, Friend To All' The Newark Police Department is mourning the loss of its sixth member due to COVID-19. Det. Marcus Thomas died of virus complications Monday. “Sadly, the City of Newark has lost a truly good man who was a friend and a brother to all,” Newark Mayor Ras J.
