Tractor Trailer Slams Through Building In Three-Vehicle Crash: Cedar Grove PD
Two people were injured after a tractor trailer slammed through a building on Route 23 in Cedar Grove following a three-vehicle crash on Friday, April 26, Cedar Grove police said. At 11:12 a.m., two vehicles and a truck were involved in the crash before the truck struck the building, at 792 Pompton Ave. compromising the structure, police said. Two drivers were extricated and transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The building is home to the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy. A 17-year-old Newark teenager was hit with multiple charges after stealing a man's Porsche and then striking him with it last November, authorities said. On Sunday, Nov. 19, officers responded to The Fairway on a report of a stolen Porsche, Cedar Grove police said in a release. During the theft, the victim was hit with the vehicle and knocked to the ground, police said. Authorities are investigating after Anthony Ambrose, the former chief of detectives for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, accidentally shot himself on Friday, March 22. The incident occurred at a private office complex in Cedar Grove, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II said.
