Newark Man Charged In String Of Belleville Burglaries

A 57-year-old Newark man was arrested Monday and charged with a series of nighttime commercial burglaries in Belleville, police said.

In all four burglaries police said Anthony Meyers smashed an exterior door window, enter the business and empty the cash register. He was arrested in Newark.

Meyers was arrested thanks to surveillance video submitted by businesses and residents and with help from Maplewood and Newark police, the New Jersey Regional Operations Intelligence Center and the Newark Real Time Crime Center, Belleville police also said.
