Mayor: Saddle Brook Will Ban Puppy Mill Dogs SADDLE BROOK, N.J.– Saddle Brook is expected to become the next Bergen County municipality to ban the sale of puppy mill dogs, officials said. Video: Passaic Firefighters Extinguish Blaze At Abandoned Building PASSAIC, N.J.– Passaic firefighters on Wednesday extinguished a blaze at an abandoned building, officials said. It took nearly five hours to get the fire under control after the 8:40 a.m. call at 197 Lexington Ave., Battalion Chief Louis Mercado told Daily Voice. The cause of the fire was still under investigation, Mercado said.  There had been recent complaints of vagrants going in and out, he added.  No injuries were reported.

East Rutherford Adopts $25.5 Million Municipal Budget EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.– East Rutherford's Borough Council adopted a $25.5 million budget that boasts a tax cut for the third straight year. There will be a roughly $54.77 decrease on local property taxes for the owner of an averaged assessed home of $322,164, Councilman Joel Brizzi said.  The local tax levy decreased $81,000  to $10.73 million, according to Tony Bianchi, the borough’s chief financial officer.
