Cadet Swim Raises Money For 2017 Bogota Emergency Youth Services Academy BOGOTA, N.J.– The Bogota Emergency Services Youth Academy is hosting an alumni swim at the borough swim club Friday. The free event is from 7-10 p.m.  The Academy is encouraging cadets from all graduating classes to attend. Cadets and staff members are scheduled to be on hand to speak to attendees.  Hamburgers, hot dogs, and soft drinks will be provided, organizers said.  Youth Academy items were available for purchase with all proceeds going toward next summer's academy class.

GoFundMe Set For Wallington Man, 40, Injured In Motorcycle Crash WALLINGTON, N.J.– A GoFundMe page was established to help a 40-year-old Wallington man who was injured in a motorcycle crash earlier this month. Pawel Wala, was heading home when he "hit the trees and the rocks by the road" Aug. 7, according to Slawomir Gancarz, who created the page.  Wala was airlifted from the scene and is in critical condition, Gancarz said.  He was suffering from two broken legs, a shattered pelvic bone, broken ribs and a fracture foot, Gancarz said.
