Paterson Fire Displaces 50, Collapses Building PATERSON, N.J. — An early-morning fire collapsed a building in Paterson Saturday and displaced more than 50 people, a Red Cross spokeswoman said. No injuries were reported. The fire on Main Street started around 1 a.m. The Red Cross was on the scene by 3 a.m., spokeswoman Diane Concannon told Daily Voice.  The Red Cross provided temporary places to stay and other needs for 10 families -- totaling 53 people, Concannon said. The families escaped the frigid cold quickly thanks to the help of Paterson police, she said.

Christopher A. Petrucci, 22, was arrested on theft charges and suspended from the department on Friday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and West Milford Police Chief Timothy Storbeck said. Petrucci served as treasurer for Fire Company No. 2 from 2013 to November 2015, they said. He was ordered held on $35,000 bail.

Vicitacio Rivas-Valle, 68, was ordered held on $50,000 bail, charged with two counts each of sexual contact and child endangerment, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said on Friday. The girls are now 13 and 16, Valdes said.

A tip led detectives to the Monroe Street apartment of Victoriano Moreno-Cabrera, 20, Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said. Authorities found 14 child porn files at first but then discovered around 4,000 stored online, which Berdnik said Moreno-Cabrera accessed from his mobile devices.
