Roberto, owner of Must Love Dogs in Wayne, lives on a farm in West Milford with the many animals she's rescued over the years. In total Roberto estimated she has around 30 animals with her. Wanaque Man Charged With Threatening Woman At Gunpoint WANAQUE, N.J. — Wanaque police on Friday arrested a Haskell man who they said threatened a woman at gunpoint in a liquor store parking lot. Lynn McClendon, 24, had a black pellet gun and marijuana when police took him into custody at his home, Capt. Ken Fackina said.The night before, he'd threatened the 19-year-old woman in the parking lot of a Ringwood Avenue liquor store, the captain said.McClendon was awaiting bail Friday afternoon at police headquarters on charges of making terroristic threats, along with weapons and marijuana possession, Fackina said.

Wanaque Apartment Fire Displaces Two WANAQUE, N.J. — No injuries were reported in a dryer fire that displaced two people at a Ringwood Avenue apartment in Wanaque, police said. The blaze started around 6 p.m. Thursday in the rear apartment of a two-family building, Capt. Ken Fackina said on Friday. Sgt. Keith Spillane and Officer Joe Fiorito entered the burning building to make sure everyone got out safely and found no one inside at the time, Fackina said. The fire closed Ringwood Avenue until around 7:30 p.m., he said.

Two Arrested In Hawthorne Bank Robbery HAWTHORNE, N.J. — Police said they arrested two men accused of robbing a Hawthorne bank. Alejandro L. Ortiz, 20, of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and Robert N. Somers, 44, of Little Falls, were accused of robbing the TD Bank on Lafayette Avenue Wednesday afternoon, police said. Pennsylvania police found Oritz when he crossed the border and Somers was arrested by Wayne officers Thursday, police said. Ortiz and Somers were held on $100,000 bail and charged with robbery, police said.
