Stephen Sirch Charged
A Camden County man was accused of speeding in a three-vehicle crash that killed a woman on a busy road in western Atlantic County, authorities said. Stephen Sirch, 30, of Voorhees, was arrested and charged with second-degree vehicular homicide on Monday, Apr. 22, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. A crash knocked down a utility pole in downtown Mays Landing, closing part of a busy road in both directions during morning rush hour, officials said. Township of Hamilton police said officers were responding to the crash on Route 40 East between Route 50 and Forty Wire Road on Wednesday, Apr. 3, the department posted on Facebook. Garden State Parkway Crash Causes Two-Mile Backup In Ocean County
A crash on the Garden State Parkway had traffic backed up for more than two miles in Brick Township in the afternoon on Friday, Jan. 12. The NJDOT says the crash happened southbound on the parkway near exit 91 B-A just before 3:30 p.m. Two lanes of traffic were closed as crews responded to the scene. All lanes were closed on the Commodore Barry Bridge due to a crash on Thursday evening, Oct. 26. According to the NJDOT website, it happened in the westbound lanes of the New Jersey side in Logan Township. The bridge was closed into Chester, PA, the DOT said.

Chicken Waste Spill Causes HazMat Situation Along South Jersey Highway
A trailer hauling chicken waste products crashed, spilling its contents all over Route 55 and causing a HazMat situation in Gloucester County on Monday, Feb. 27. The northbound side of the roadway was closed in Deptford from mile marker 59.2 to the Route 42 interchange following the 9 a.m. crash. The roadway had reopened as of 1:45 p.m., but crews were still on scene for cleanup. HazMat crews, the New Jersey State Police, NJDOT, and multiple fire departments were on scene. Environmental services were notified and were monitoring the incident. No injuries were reported.

Worker Mowing Grass On Rt. 80, State Police Say (

Human remains were found by a transportation department worker on Route 80, state police confirmed. The NJDOT worker was mowing the grass when the remains were found near the eastbound lanes on the right shoulder in the grass at milepost 16.6 in Allamuchy shortly after 12:25 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, NJSP Trooper Charles Marchan told DailyVoice.com. The remains were identified as those of a Black male, Marchan said. The cause of death is unknown. The incident is under investigation. Additional details were not released.

Police ID Maryland Man, 51, Killed After Striking Tree In South Jersey
Police have released the name of a 51-year-old driver killed when his car struck a tree in South Jersey. Thomas Eugene Rogers of Halethorpe, Maryland was killed at 4:15 p.m. on Monday, April 18, Township of Hamilton police said. Police responded to a single motor vehicle crash along Route 322 (Black Horse Pike), eastbound, in the area of milepost 42. A 2006 maroon Jaguar S-Type veered off the roadway and struck a tree. Overturned Dump Truck Closes Portion Of Route 42
An overturned dump truck has partially closed Route 42 at Exit 12 in Gloucester County, NJ DOT said. The large rollback truck apparently flipped over into the median from the northbound lanes in Deptford, and scattered truck parts all over the highway. NJDOT was on scene and has closed all but one lane with major delays expected, developing reports say. There are reports of another two vehicle wreck further north on the same highway at the 295/76 split.

A Jersey Shore driver was airlifted after his new SUV hit a utility pole and rolled on Route 23 in West Milford over the weekend.
