Pair Found With Defaced Gun After Galloway Vehicle Break-In: Police Two men from South Jersey were arrested after they broke into someone's car and had a defaced gun, authorities said. Galloway Township police said they received a call from a potential theft victim at around 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The man said he had checked his surveillance footage and saw someone broke into his vehicle at around 1:30 a.m. Officers began checking the area and noticed a Nissan Altima parked on Smithville Boulevard. Absecon Man Sentenced For Handgun Possession A 22-year-old man from Absecon was sentenced to New Jersey State Prison for the unlawful possession of a handgun, authorities said. Quasir Smith was sentenced on Tuesday, May 9 to a five-year state prison term, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. On Feb. 10, 2022, Galloway Township Police responded to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center – Mainland Campus, for a report of a handgun found on Smith by hospital personnel, the prosecutor said. Smith did not have a permit to carry the handgun.  He was subsequently placed under arrest.

South Jersey Man, 33, Killed In Head-On School Bus Collision A 33-year-old man from Galloway Township was killed in a head-on collision with a school bus, authorities said. Thomas Malinowski was driving north on Pitney Road when his vehicle struck a school bus hearing south near Quail High Boulevard and East Collins Road on Wednesday, Galloway police said. Malinowski’s Mitsubishi Outlander was pushed off the road into a wooded area, police said.
