Boy Struck By Car, Airlifted After Getting Off School Bus In Mays Landing A 15-year-old boy from Mays Landing had to be airlifted with serious injuries after being struck by a car, authorities said. The student had just gotten off a school bus when the crash occurred on Monday, Dec. 4 at about 5:40 p.m., according to Hamilton Township police in Atlantic County. The crash occurred at the intersection of Mays Landing Somers Point Road and Old River Road. A preliminary investigation found a 2013 Honda Civic operated by Richard Brownell, 79, of Selbyville, Delaware, was traveling southbound on Mays Landing Somers Point Road when he struck the boy, police said. Egg Harbor Teenager Seriously Hurt Diving Into Shallow Pond A teenager from Egg Harbor Township was seriously injured last weekend, after diving into shallow water in Hamilton Township, authorities said. First responders were called to the Gravelly Run Sand Wash at 7:44 p.m. on Saturday, Hamilton police said in a statement. The 19-year-old victim got injured in the water near Ocean Heights Avenue and Somers Point Mays Landing Road, police said. Friends and other bystanders helped the unidentified swimmer until emergency personnel arrived, according to the report.
