The firefighter who was taken to the hospital with a leg injury while battling a Maryland blaze over the weekend has been released and is recovering at home, responders have announced. The fire broke out at a home on the 1200 block of Long Corner Road in Mt. Airy around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 17, the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services said. Injured Hiker Rescued By Maryland State Police Helicopter
A Maryland State Police helicopter was required on Friday to rescue a hiker who got hurt and needed a save in Frederick County. On March 15, a 23-year-old needed aerial rescue after becoming injured while climbing at Chimney Rock, officials said. The Frederick County Health Department is cautioning residents to avoid certain waterways after a sewage overflow on Mount St. Mary's University campus on the east side of Route 15.
