Police Search For Suspect Who Lit American Flag On Fire Outside Of Home In Region Authorities are investigating after an individual set fire to an American flag that was hanging on a Connecticut resident's porch. Officers in Litchfield County responded to a Torrington residence in the area of Church Street at about 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, after receiving a report that the flag was set on fire overnight, the Torrington Police Department reported. Investigators determined that at about 2:10 a.m., an unknown male dressed in black walked up to the home and set the flag on fire, police said. 41-Year-Old Killed In Crash At Shopping Plaza In Region A 41-year-old man was killed in a crash between a Jeep Wrangler and a motorcycle at a Connecticut shopping plaza. It happened in Litchfield County around 10 p.m., Friday, Aug. 13, on East Main Street in Torrington. The 2011 Jeep Wrangler, driven by 58-year-old Daniel Gnitzcavich, of the Town of Harwinton, was attempting a left-hand turn across the eastbound lanes into the Market 32 Plaza, said Detective Kevin Tieman, of the Torrington Police. Man Found Dead On Side Of CT Roadway Following Crash, Police Say A man was found dead on the side of a Connecticut roadway after crashing his vehicle. The man, described as being in his 50s and a Torrington resident, was found around 8 p.m., Sunday, June 27 when Torrington Police received a 911 call regarding a crash on Winsted Road. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a motorcycle on its side in the center of the road. The driver was found dead just south of the motorcycle's location on the side of the road, Torrington Police said.
