Most Expensive States: Here's Where Massachusetts Ranks, New Report Says
A new ranking by CNBC has found that both New York and Massachusetts are part of the top 10 most expensive states to live in.
The CNBC report, which was published on Friday, July 12, used an index of prices for a broad range of goods and services, which was calculated by the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER), alongside housing affordability and the cost to insure a median-priced home, to determine the list of spendy states.

Stop & Shop To Close Underperforming Worcester, Shrewsbury Stores
Stop & Shop has released a list of the 32 underperforming stores by the end of the year.
The grocery giant in March announced that it planned on closing a number of stores "in the interest of company longevity," as previously reported by Daily Voice.
On Friday, July 12, Stop & Shop announced the locations of stores it expected to close on or before Nov. 2. Scroll down for the complete list.

Severe Storms, Possible Tornadoes Fueled By Beryl's Remnants To Hit Northeast: Timing, Track
Numerous clusters of severe thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and possible isolated tornadoes fueled by the remnants of Beryl are headed to the Northeast.
Beryl, which made landfall along the Texas coast as a Category 1 hurricane on Monday, July 8, will move into upstate New York and northern New England on Wednesday, July 10, starting late in the afternoon and continuing overnight.
The most severe storms on Wednesday are expected in areas marked in orange and yellow in the image above, mainly farther north and west of the I-95 corridor.

A popular frozen pizza product sold in the Northeast has been recalled due to misbranding and undeclared allergens.
802 VT Frozen, a Newport, Vermont, establishment, said the recall involves approximately 8,220 pounds of its frozen meat pizza.
The product contains soy, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on Friday, April 26.

Sylvia Levine, formerly of Springfield and Longmeadow, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, in Las Vegas. She was 93 years old.
Sylvia was born to Samuel Levine and Dinah Lifschitz on November 6, 1930, in Harlem, New York, and was their treasured only child. Yiddish was her first language, and she learned English as she transitioned into Kindergarten.
