Stick Attack: Springfield Man Charged With Beating Two In Vermont, Police Say Police in Vermont arrested a Springfield man earlier this week and charged him with beating two people with a stick inside a home in Barre.  Dahiem Dukes, 20, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of second-degree unlawful restraint, Vermont State Police said. He is being held without bail.  Troopers were called to a home in Royalston around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, to reports of a man attacking someone with a wooden stick, authorities said. Western Mass Woman Gets Prison Sentence Much Shorter Than Her Husband: Feds A judge sentenced a 32-year-old Springfield woman to more than seven years in jail after she pleaded guilty to taking part in a drug smuggling ring that moved crack, heroin, and cocaine from Massachusetts into Vermont, authorities said.
