Death ID: Police Identified Man Who Perished In Fire In Region Police have identified a man who was found dead following a fire at a Connecticut home. Tolland County resident Joel Kerr, age 66, of Vernon, was found dead on Sunday, June 11 inside a home at 144 Hany Lane in Vernon. According to Lt. Robert Marra of the Vernon Police, firefighters overhauling the house after the fire was extinguished found Kerr inside the home. Woman Found Dead After Apartment Fire Breaks Out In Region A Connecticut woman was found dead inside a third-floor apartment following a fire. The Hartford County woman was found around 8 p.m., Monday, March 21, in East Windsor following the fire at a multi-family home on Church Street. When firefighters were called shortly before 7:30 p.m. there was a report of “trapped parties on the third floor," the Broad Brook Fire Department said. On arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire condition, the department said.
