$100K Mass Lottery Ticket Will Expire Soon: Here's What To Look For The Massachusetts State Lottery says a lottery ticket purchased on Jan. 8 will soon expire, leaving $100,000 unclaimed.  The ticket — with the winning numbers 1-5-6-13-29 — was bought at 7-Eleven at 97 Union St. in Easthampton.  State lottery rules allow winners a year to claim their prize money before they are forfeit. Any money below $103,000 can be claimed at any lottery claim center in Braintree, Dorchester (Lottery headquarters), Lawrence, New Bedford, West Springfield, and Worcester.

Man Seriously Injured After Crashing Into Tree In Western Mass City: Police Paramedics rushed a man to the hospital after he wrecked his car in an early-morning, single-vehicle wreck in West Springfield, authorities said.  The man was driving west on Route 20 when his car crossed the center lane and went off the road near Fife Lane before smashing into a tree around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, West Springfield police said.  First responders found the man unconscious but breathing before taking him to a nearby hospital for treatment.   Police are investigating the cause of the crash and have not released the driver's name.

Man Charged In Connection With Western Massachusetts Murder: DA A man has been arrested in connection with a homicide in western Massachusetts, the Hampden County District Attorney's Office reports. Jose Hernandez, of West Springfield, was arrested and charged with murder on Friday, Oct. 21, the office reports. Authorities were aware of a possible homicide victim on Thursday, according to the office. Police later searched the victim's house and found them dead inside.  Investigators later determined Hernandez as the suspect. He is expected to be arraigned Friday in Springfield District Court. The investigation is ongoing.
