Police ID Woman, 28, Killed In Granby Crash

Police in Hampshire County have identified the 28-year-old woman killed in a crash in Granby over the weekend. 

A 28-year-old woman was killed on Saturday, July 1, in a Granby crash, authorities said. She was a passenger in an SUV that lost control, rolled over, and slammed into oncoming traffic. Two others were injured.

Katelyn Gress, of Granby, died on Saturday, July 1, when the Jeep Grand Cherokee she was riding in lost control, rolled over, and crashed into oncoming traffic near the intersection of Pleasant and Barton streets around 1:15 a.m., Granby police said. 

The driver of the Cherokee — a 30-year-old Granby man — and the car they hit — a 74-year-old Springfield man — were both taken to area hospitals and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said. 

Police are investigating the cause of the crash. No charges have been filed, according to prosecutors.
