Listeria Prompts Recall Of These Spinach, Salad Kits
A voluntary recall has been issued across seven states for BrightFarms spinach and four salad kits, the FDA announced on Wednesday, Jan. 17. The recall includes spinach grown by BrightFarms's supplier, Element Farms, located in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. Brightfarms has temporarily suspended the distribution of any spinach grown at the farm due to the recall. The FDA explained there was "potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes" from the products distributed from its Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania facility. Hundreds of thousands of Honda SUVs are being recalled due to concerns that road salt could cause the frame of the vehicle to rust and unintentionally detach parts of the rear suspension. The DWI dump truck driver who last August killed the pregnant wife of a Pennsylvania firefighter was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 2 in Boston, authorities announced. Everett Clayton, 56, of West Virginia, was wanted on various charges stemming from the crash that happened in Lower Providence Township, PA., on Aug. 25. The crash left Kellie Adams, of Lansdale, PA., dead at 31 years old, according to police in Boston and Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele. People’s United Financial Inc. and all of its stock is being sold for $7.6 billion to M&T Bank Corp. All together, M&T plus People’s, there will be 1,100 branches and more than 2,000 ATMs across 12 states, M&T said in an announcement. The combined banks have $200 billion in assets.
