Suspicious Package Leads To Evacuation In Holyoke A suspicious package in Hampden County forced officials to order an evacuation late Thursday night, March 23, authorities said.  Firefighters were called to the area near Main and James streets in Holyoke when someone found the package around 11 p.m., the Holyoke Fire Department said. Residents in that area were asked to leave until police could figure out if it was dangerous.  Massachusetts State troopers were called to investigate and later determined it posed no threat. Residents were allowed to return home just after midnight, the fire department said.

Suspicious Package In Hartford Turns Out To Be Medical Kit, Police Say A suspicious package found at a Connecticut adult day treatment center turned out to be a medical kit. The package was found at the Institute of Living at 200 Retreat Ave., in Hartford on Thursday, April 1, said Hartford Police. Police and the bomb squad responded to the scene to investigate the package. Following an investigation, police said the package turned out to be a medical kit left in a bathroom.
