Misael Sanchez Guilty Of Killing Christopher Martin In Crash
A Hampden County jury found a 39-year-old man Springfield man guilty of a 2018 drunken fatal crash, authorities announced. Misael Sanchez was found guilty of manslaughter while operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol on Friday, Feb. 2, the Hampden County District Attorney's Office said. A judge sentenced him to 7 to 10 years in prison. Sanchez crashed his Acura into a Christopher Martin's Toyota just after 4:30 a.m. on Parker Street on Aug. 4, 2018. The 31-year-old Hampden County woman who was shot in a car weeks ago in Springfield has died of her injuries, authorities said. Amanda Cummings, of Agawam, was rushed to Baystate Medical Center in critical condition following the shooting on Boston Road and Parker Street just after 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 12, the Hampden County District Attorney's Office said. Springfield police have now released the names of three of the four people killed last week in different shootings across the city. Officials IDed the two men gunned down on Saturday, Aug. 12, on Wednesday. Abdikadir Hussein Abdi Hussein, 31, of Springfield, was found shot in the passenger seat of a wrecked vehicle on Boston Road near Parker Street just after 2:30 a.m., police said. Springfield police found a man and woman shot inside a crashed car early Saturday morning, Aug. 12, authorities said. Police were called to the Boston Road and Parker Street area just after 2:30 a.m. and found the smashed vehicle. Both people inside had been shot, Springfield police said. Police have asked the public for help locating a missing 15-year-old boy from Western Massachusetts. In Hampden County, the Springfield Police Department is searching for Julian Martelli, who was last seen the night of Tuesday, April 12, according to the Wilbraham Police Department. One Killed In Crash Between Car, Motorcycle In Springfield
A motorcyclist was killed in a crash between a car and a motorcycle in Western Massachusetts. The crash took place around 8:10 p.m., Thursday, March 25, on Parker Street near Frederic Street in Springfield, said Springfield Police Spokesman Ryan Walsh. When officers arrived on the scene they found an adult male motorcycle rider who was transported to Baystate Medical Center where he died from his injuries, Walsh said. AAA Forecasts Fall Gas Prices - Where To Get The Lowest-Price Gas Now
With fewer people traveling due to COVID-19 restrictions, the price of gas has dropped to under $2 per gallon at gas stations across Central and Western Massachusetts. On average, national gas prices are 50 cents less than they were at this time last year, according to AAA. And the national auto club expects this downward trend to continue through the fall.
