$1M Lottery Win: Central Mass Mom Planning Surprise Trip With Her Kids A Worcester County mom had one thing to say after winning $1 million in the Massachusetts State Lottery: "I'm going to Disney World!" Lisa Smith, of Northbridge, won the seven-figure sum playing the “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” $10 scratch-off game.  She chose to take the lump-sum payment of $650,000 (before taxes) rather than the annuity. She plans to buy herself a new car and take her two children to Disney World with the cash.  Smith bought the ticket at Cumberland Farms, 2222 Providence Road in Northbridge. The store will get a $10,000 bonus for the sale.

New England Native Convicted Of Killing His Wife, Children, Family Dog A physical therapist from Connecticut has been convicted of killing his wife, three children, and the family dog by a jury. Anthony Todt, a New London County native who grew up in Colchester, was found guilty on Thursday, April 14 in Kissimmee, Florida, located just minutes from Disney World.  Todt, age 46, reportedly commuted between Florida to Connecticut to his Colchester business, Family Physical Therapy. NY Man Indicted In $700,000 Investment Scheme A New York man has been indicted for scamming investors out of more than $700,000, authorities announced. Long Island resident Matthew Gallagher, age 37, of Rocky Point, used various investment schemes to scam 24 victims over a period of about four years, according to an investigation by Suffolk County Police and Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy D.
