A Connecticut drug dealer has been sentenced to prison for supplying heroin to a member of a Waterbury-area drug trafficking ring.
Former New Haven County resident Jesus Nieves, aka "Pop," age 38, formerly of Waterbury, and Springfield, Massachusetts, was sentenced Thursday, Feb. 23 to 63 months in prison, said Vanessa Roberts Avery, US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.

A judge sentenced a 32-year-old Springfield woman to more than seven years in jail after she pleaded guilty to taking part in a drug smuggling ring that moved crack, heroin, and cocaine from Massachusetts into Vermont, authorities said. A Hartford man known as “Heavy” has been sentenced to 60 months of imprisonment for his involvement in a drug trafficking ring specializing in heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, and crack.
Pedro “Heavy” Rivera, 42, pleaded guilty on Aug. 29, 2019, to one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine, according to the U.S. Justice Department.
