Chowder Pot Of Hartford Reveals Closing Date After Nearly 30 Years In Business An iconic seafood restaurant in Connecticut has officially announced its closing date after being in business for almost 30 years.  Chowder Pot of Hartford will be closing for good on Saturday, March 25, the restaurant said in a Facebook post on Monday, Feb. 13. This comes after the owners originally revealed that Chowder Pot would be closing on Tuesday, Jan. 3.  "It has been bittersweet since announcing our closing," the Chowder Pot wrote on Facebook. New England Man Flees After Attempting To Break Into ATM, Police Say A New England man attempted to flee from police in Connecticut after being caught red-handed attempting to break into an ATM inside an area Dunkin’ location, police announced. In New Haven County, police responded to Dunkin’ on North Main Road in Branford shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Friday, May 27 when an alarm was activated inside the store. Three Killed In Connecticut Crash  Three people were killed in a morning crash in Connecticut. It happened around 6:30 a.m. in New Haven County in Branford on Thursday, April 28 on Hosley Avenue. Preliminary findings of the investigation indicate that the operator failed to negotiate a curve in the road while traveling at an excessive speed, Branford Police said. Fourth Tornado Touchdown From Severe Storms Confirmed In Connecticut Officials have confirmed that a fourth tornado touched down in Connecticut during the severe round of storms on Saturday, Nov. 13. The fourth tornado, in Windham County, in the Town of Plainfield, was confirmed as an EF0, (the weakest of the six levels on the Enhanced Fujita Scale), as a powerful storm swept across the state, said Accu Weather Senior Meteorologist Paul Walker. Just after 10:05 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, the suspect entered Liberty Bank, located in Middlesex County, at 151 Main St, in Deep River. The suspect showed a note to the teller and demanded money. Man, 69, Killed On His Birthday In Single-Vehicle I-91 Crash A 69-year-old Connecticut man was killed on his birthday after he plowed into the back of a parked vehicle while getting off of I-91. Richard Vining, of Branford, was killed around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, in Middletown, when he was exiting I-91 southbound when he hit an unoccupied parked vehicle, said the Connecticut State Police. The impact caused his vehicle to overturn onto its left side and proceeded to penetrate through the metal beam guide rail adjacent to the acceleration lane, state police said.
