Head-On Collision Sends 2 To Hospital In Western Mass; Woman Airlifted To Trauma Center Two people were rushed to the hospital Tuesday night, Dec. 12, in Franklin County following a head-on collision. One driver had to be cut from her vehicle before paramedics could get her to a doctor.  The crash happened just before 10:45 p.m. on Northfield Road in Bernardston near Purple Meadow Road, Berndardston firefighters said. A sedan and a small SUV had slammed into one another head-on, crumbling the front ends of both vehicles.  The driver of the sedan, a man, was able to get out of his vehicle and was rushed to Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. Man Pulled From Pond Hospitalized In Hampden County The condition of a 49-year-old man pulled from a Western Massachusetts pond is unknown, according to police. The incident took place just before 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 3 in Hampden County when the Wilbraham Police Department and Wilbraham Fire Department received a 911 call about the man in distress at Nine Mile Pond.  Both agencies responded to the area were told the man was attempting to swim to a boat however did not surface.  The marine unit and dive team began and search and under the direction of Sgt Shawn Baldwin located the man about 40 minutes later and 25 feet from shor…

One Killed In Western Massachusetts Crash One person was killed in a crash involving a Freightliner tractor-trailer, a 2020 Toyota Camry, and a 2008 Toyota Sienna van in Western Massachusetts.
