Waltham Officer, Utility Worker Killed In Hit, Run Crash; Driver Stole Police Car To Escape: DA
A Waltham police officer and utility worker are dead, and two more are injured by a man who crashed into them and stole a police cruiser in an escape attempt on Wednesday, Dec. 6, authorities said.
Peter Simon, 54, of Woodsville, New Hampshire, is charged with two counts of manslaughter and armed robbery, but more charges are likely forthcoming, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said. He will be arraigned on Thursday.

A man with a knife allegedly stole a man’s phone, money, and ATM card by cutting a hole in his pants on Monday night, Nov. 20, Boston police said.
Brandon Frazier, 36, of East Boston, pulled a knife on the man and demanded money from him at 406 Meridian St. shortly before 7 p.m., according to the Boston Police Department.
When the man refused to give him money, Frazier cut a hole in the man’s pants and grabbed the cash, an ATM card, and a cell phone.

Brian Brito, age 27, of Lynn, was conviction of the first-degree murder of Mohammedreza “Sina” Zangiband, 24, of Salem, on Friday, June 9, the Essex County District Attorney's Office reports.

A Boston man was indicted this week with the murder of a Lawrence man in 2022, authorities announced on Wednesday, May 17.
Lee Harvey, 30, of Roslindale, was charged with robbing and killing 32-year-old Jose Delacruz outside of a Bank of America at 257 Essex St. in Lawrence on March 27, 2022, the Essex County District Attorney said.
